Service Technicians

Reports To: Operations Manager

Position Purpose

The PHS Service Technician is responsible for the installation, servicing, and maintenance of all PHS products and equipment at customer sites. This role ensures all tasks are completed in accordance with the PHS Quality, Environmental, and Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems. Acting as the face of the business, the service technician plays a key role in delivering exceptional customer service while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, compliance, and environmental responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver scheduled servicing of PHS products at client locations, from time to time, this may include the installation and removal of equipment.

  • Navigate routes using routing software (Trans Servies or similar)

  • Communicate with the Service Planner to support route optimisation

  • Complete service records via the Trans Services (or similar) Mobile App

  • Maintain your company vehicle in a safe, clean, and roadworthy condition

  • Support and mentor new Service Technicians

  • Participate in ongoing training and skills development

  • Attend debriefs to review service delivery compliance as required

  • Report any hazards, near misses, or equipment issues promptly

  • Flexibly respond to urgent service requests when required

  • Provide suggestions to improve safety, environmental responsibility, or efficiency

  • Comply with OH&S practices and wear appropriate PPE

  • Ensure timely arrival and meet service start commitments for each client

  • Dispose of waste responsibly and follow environmental protocols

  • Carry out other duties as directed by management

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

Essential:

  • Current valid Australian driver’s license

  • Current National Police Check (or willing to maintain)

  • Current Working with Children’s Check (or willing to obtain)

  • Willingness to receive vaccinations when required (COVID x 3 shots, Hepatitis B, Polio, Tetanus)

  • Basic literacy and numeracy

  • Competence with smartphones and mobile apps

  • Strong customer service and communication skills

  • Reliable and able to work independently under pressure

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with Melbourne metro geography

  • Multi-drop delivery or similar service experience

  • Understanding of scheduling optimisation and productivity tools

Our services include the provision and maintenance of sanitary units, incontinence and nappy units, air fresheners, premium scenting oils, hand and surface sanitisers, urinal mats, soap and paper dispensers, and more. We are committed to delivering exceptional service while optimising operational efficiency and sustainability.

Position Summary

The Business Development & Sales Executive will act as a key liaison between Pure Hygiene and prospective clients. This role is pivotal in identifying new opportunities, strengthening client relationships, and driving sustainable growth by promoting the full suite of PHS products and services.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales

  • Identify and pursue new washroom hygiene business opportunities

  • Contribute to retention of existing client portfolio with a minimum retention target of 95%

  • Develop strategic plans to Protect, Grow, and Acquire business in defined territories

  • Accurately forecast and deliver against revenue and retention targets

Client Relationship Management

  • Build strong client relationships through regular communication and meetings

  • Offer tailored products and service recommendations

  • Address client complaints, feedback and ensure satisfactory resolutions

  • Maintain open feedback loops with clients for continuous improvement

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Liaise with internal departments (Operations, Quality, Sustainability, Compliance, Procurement) to ensure seamless service delivery

  • Assist operational teams in customer service excellence

  • Contribute insights and feedback to senior leadership and tender teams

  • Attend monthly client meetings where appropriate.

  • Organise and attend networking events and promotional activities

  • Provide estimating support to other Bidvest business units as directed.

Reporting & CRM

  • Maintain accurate records in CRM (HubSpot) to ensure transparency and effectiveness

  • Provide timely updates and reports to management on business performance and pipeline status

Contacts & Interaction

  • Regular contact with Strategic Growth GM, Tender Team, Senior Management, Operations & Compliance teams

  • Interactions with clients, site representatives, and administrative personnel

Key Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years' experience in customer service or sales roles

  • Experience generating sales pipelines, ideally within the hygiene industry

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and networking skills.

  • Proficiency in estimating software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Flexibility with travel and adaptable workload

  • Strong organisational skills and deadline management

  • Deep understanding of cleaning and washroom hygiene specifications

  • Ability to identify customer needs and address challenges strategically

Desirable Attributes

  • Strong understanding of cost estimating methodologies, bid preparation, and contract negotiation.
